More About Hypnotherapy ...
It is necessary for the client to want to change and therefore to allow the conscious mind to relax for the process to happen quite naturally. Any person not wishing to experience hypnosis will always be able to stop themself from being hypnotised, as they will not allow the conscious mind to 'let go'. This is why a client can never be asked or made to do anything that they do not wish to do or say - the client is always in control.
There is no magic or trickery - hypnosis can be a very powerful tool, but the power remains with the client. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotherapist guides the client's thinking processes and enables the client to unlock the power of their own mind. The client can bring themself out of hypnosis whenever they wish to, simply by raising their awareness of the environment around them.... more often than not, the therapist will encourage this to happen very gently at the end of the hypnotherapy session.
